almost),  My  intention is that one essay should be  finished  in
time for each issue of ST NEWS.  Each article will deal with  one

              An attempt at explaining the cause...

 I  think it's nuthin' but doggone shit to blame computer  games,
violent  movies,  role  playing games,  knives and guns  for  the
increasing  violence  in  the society of  today.  You  don't  get
interested in stabbing people because you've bought a knife, it's
the other way around.  You buy a knife because you're  interested
in stabbing people.  The same goes for games and violent  movies.
You  watch violent movies because you like violence (at least  as
fiction), you don't start to like violence because you watch pulp
movies.  The  only thing you can ascribe to violent movies is  an
increase of nasty ideas (wow!  look at that! that's a cool way to
maim...).

 I think the true cause is social and economical misery.  I would
like  to  inform  you that I don't  believe  that  the  following
descriptions are true for everybody, but I think it's accurate to
a  great majority's background.  Child  abuse,  incest,  mobbing,
abuse and poverty are the true causes for violence.

society  is fucking running away from  it's  responsibility!  All
politicians ought to wake up and realize their guilt.

 It's  of  course easier to kill a person with a  gun,  rifle  or
anything similar than with a knife.  I think there should be more
restrictions  on owning fire arms.  It should also be illegal  to
carry  knives and other similar arms on public places.  But  then
again, guns don't kill people, people do.

 I  don't think we can blame music or drugs either.  Drugs  don't
make you violent if you haven't got latent aggressions inside  of
you,  I think.  Alcohol make you become YOU in the  extreme.  But
it's still you, you don't become a totally different person. When
someone's  going berserk it's almost always guys that  you  would
think  could  get  aggressively insane.  I think  the  reason  is
psycho-social problems.  Well,  some people suffer from  delirium
tremens  too,  I  guess.  I can only relate  to  myself.  I'm  no
archetype, or? I think it's too easy to blame the use of Alcohol.

problem with guns in this country. We have people snapping almost

kills  all  his  co-workers.  If I worked at  a  post  office  as

 What  about capital punishment then?  Well,  look at the  U.S.A!
Both  the penalties of death and the killings are  increasing  in
the States.  Capital punishment doesn't change a  thing.  Perhaps
people choose the gas chamber or electric chair before 230  years
in jail,  I don't know.  But it's obvious that capital punishment
is a way to make the masses (i.e.  lynch mobs) satisfied. I don't
think the situation would get better in the States if the use  of
capital punishment was forbidden,  but I don't think it would get
worse  either.  Perhaps  we oughta ask ourselves if we  would  be
happy living in a fucking carbon box on the street. Would we like
getting spanked by our parents?

 Would we like being discriminated?  Would we like being somebody
else at all?  Well,  these questions must be asked. I don't think
we'll ever live to see the day when violence is nuthin' but a bad
memory.

 Violence is always meaningless.  Violence is always a crime. Why
did two kids kill an even younger kid?  Why did James Bulgar have
to die?  Why are people killing each other?  We say that somebody
acts  like an animal when he/she gets furious and  goes  berserk.
That's wrong,  animals don't go berserk just for the heck of  it.
Animals kill to eat.  Human beings kill for fun.  Now I say  that
somebody acts like a human being when he/she kills due to hatred.

 What the fuck is that? I'm against capital punishment but when I
hear  something like this I start to consider the possibility  of
sentencing these kind of guys to eternal torture.  I get so upset
that I don't know how to react.

kill  a person who just gave them his money?  No matter  in  what
situation  a person kills another human being it's a damn  crime.
Well,  it's a crime to kill animals too (if you're not gonna  eat

you'll be charged for murder.

 We've got to treat our fellow human beings better.  We've got to
prevent violence.  We've got to fight against abuse (with words).
