Workshop J : To remove the write protection check from ST NEWS
by MUG UK
Ô -17th May 1998, 00:24AM
Within "Easyrider" (one of the many tools at MUG's disposal), it displays upon ye monitor the following commands.
BNE.S wpr&; wpr = write-protect routine
JMP all_OK
wpr: PEA 1.W
waffle ....
all_OK
All the young (check before publishing) adventurer had to do was remove this vile BNE.S from the face of the code.
Once this is done (via MONST, or using a Disk Doctor type tool) it was proven to Sir Rich of LGD that this minor routine could be bypassed (and hopefully with all other issues of this magazine) and rendered *patched* for use with, for example, "PacifiST".
